Experienced Tile Installer / Remodeling Professional
About The Position
Post Services Inc. is hiring an experienced tile installer for full-time, year-round work on high-end residential remodeling projects throughout Chicago and the North Shore. Tile installation is the primary trade, with additional remodeling work—including drywall, painting, carpentry, and general finish work—when tile work is not scheduled. Projects include custom bathrooms and kitchens and full condominium renovations. The role offers competitive hourly pay based on experience and skill, a variety of residential projects, and the opportunity to work in high-end homes and condominiums.
Requirements
- Five or more years of professional tile installation experience is preferred.
- Solid experience with large-format tile and custom showers.
- Understanding of waterproofing and proper installation methods.
- Experience with drywall, painting, or other remodeling trades.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Attention to detail, particularly in occupied homes and high-end properties.
- Willingness to show up ready to work and help with other tasks as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with large-format installations, custom showers, and detailed finish work; applicants are invited to submit photos of completed tile projects.
Responsibilities
- Install large-format porcelain, ceramic, natural stone, and mosaic tile.
- Build and tile custom showers, including niches, benches, and shower floors.
- Waterproof surfaces and work with Schluter or similar systems.
- Handle tile layouts, precise cuts, leveling, grouting, and finishing.
- Prepare surfaces and deliver clean, detailed installations.
- Install, patch, tape, and mud drywall.
- Prepare surfaces and perform interior painting.
- Perform basic carpentry, trim, and general finish work.
- Assist the crew with other remodeling tasks as needed.
- Keep jobsites clean, organized, and protected.
