Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a Thoracic Surgeon with expertise in all aspects of general thoracic surgery to join our practice within the Section of Thoracic Surgery. Surgeons at all levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Contribution to program growth, multidisciplinary clinical leadership, and the academic development of a high-volume cancer program are necessary. Leadership opportunities are available for mid-career applicants. This faculty position includes the broad practice of general thoracic surgery and thoracic surgical oncology, including all aspects of esophageal disease, both benign and malignant, lung, chest wall and mediastinum. Candidates should have substantial experience in minimally invasive approaches to surgery, including robotic surgery. Strong commitment to multidisciplinary cancer care, clinical outcomes, research and education are desired. The thoracic surgery program is based at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, a 529-bed tertiary referral hospital serving one of the fastest-growing regions in Florida. We seek and will support candidates who will: build a strong clinical practice in thoracic surgical oncology, contribute to programmatic growth, quality initiatives, and care pathway development, participate meaningfully in scholarly and educational efforts, collaborate effectively across a mature multidisciplinary cancer program, and strengthen relationships with regional and external referring physicians. Candidates will be considered for an Adjunct Faculty appointment at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, commensurate with clinical and academic accomplishments.
