The Helen F Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (HFGCCRI) is seeking a BC/BE Thoracic Surgeon to join our established team in Newark, Delaware. We are actively seeking a new or recent graduate for this role. Requirements

  • BC/BE General and Thoracic Surgery
  • Must have the ability to be licensed in the State of Delaware and Maryland and meet credentialing requirements

Responsibilities

  • Patient care rounds, resident conference sessions, minor or major operative procedures, consultations, and in office procedures.
  • Work with the Chief of Surgery and the Medical Director of the Christiana Care Cancer Program to provide high quality clinical service.
  • Assist in the administrative duties of the Department of Surgery and the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute as assigned by the Chair and Medical Director, respectively.
  • Participate as faculty in surgical resident educational programs.
  • Share on-call service with other thoracic surgeons as part of the multidisciplinary thoracic team.
  • Attend the weekly surgical grand rounds and morbidity and mortality conferences.
  • Attend the monthly multidisciplinary thoracic tumor conference and weekly thoracic multidisciplinary clinic.
  • Assist the Chief of Thoracic Surgery in preparing thoracic conferences, including morbidity and mortality conference.
  • Meet the performance expectations of the Multidisciplinary Disease Centers at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute.
  • Conduct academic and scholarly activities leading towards publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in local and national thoracic organizations and societies.
