About The Position

This position is to provide surgical recovery in support to Paragonix’s Transplant Services Procurement department. Surgeons will travel to donor operating rooms to perform expert surgical removal of organs. They will use advanced techniques to ensure optimal organ recovery and will communicate all pertinent information directly to the implanting surgeon to facilitate successful transplantation. They will also participate in the delivery of recovered organs to the implanting center.

Requirements

Completion of an appropriate medical school and transplant residency.
Current accreditation in ACIN or ability to accredit in ACIN

Responsibilities

Perform surgical recovery of donor organs
Participate in process improvement and quality initiatives for the department
Assist in delivery of donor organs to the implanting transplant center
Excellent customer service and communication skills with both internal and external staff including relaying clear, concise, and pertinent clinical information.
Responsible for being reachable within 15 minutes by telephone during their 24-hour call shift.
Responsible for working in collaboration to train and evaluate new surgeons.
Excellent customer service and communication skills with internal procurement teams, OPO donor staff, and transplant center members.
Performance of end of case paperwork as directed by OPTN policy and Paragonix quality initiatives
Expert knowledge in the use of Paragonix devices pertaining to their specialty i.e. Thoracic VS Abdominal
Maintaining necessary training and credentials for hospital customers, Paragonix and OPTN
