About The Position

Seeking a Cardio Thoracic Surgeon for a Locum Tenens position in Missoula, MT. This is an inpatient role covering supplemental needs from ASAP through December 31, 2026. The position is call-only, with a 24-hour call schedule every third week (Thursday 7 am to Monday 7 am). The call type is beeper with a 20-minute response time. Phone consults and rounding are included. The practice is 90% inpatient and 10% outpatient. The support staff includes 3 RNs, 6 APPs, 3 MAs, and 3 office staff. There are 3 physicians and 6 mid-levels in the practice. The facility is a Level II Trauma center with 120 beds, including 22 ICU beds. Lab and X-ray are available onsite. Hospital privileges are required.

Requirements

• Active MT License or IMLC
• Board Certified (BC)
• DEA

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage every third week (Thursday 7 am to Monday 7 am).
• Respond to beeper calls within 20 minutes.
• Perform phone consults.
• Conduct rounding.
• Perform Coronary artery bypass surgery (On pump).
• Perform Valvular repair (Valvular replacement).
• Perform Aneurysm repair (Cardiac).
• Evaluate and manage acute vol/BP issues.
• Insert Central line, Arterial line, PA catheter & IABP.
