About The Position

The Therapy Aide works at CoxHealth Rehabilitation Hospital, a new 63-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Ozark, Missouri, formed through a partnership between CoxHealth and Select Medical. The hospital provides rehabilitation for people facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple trauma. The aide supports therapists and patients with treatment-related tasks, transfers, positioning, equipment, and transportation. The position is full-time and includes an extensive orientation program.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified BLS, or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-related tasks assigned by a therapist.
• Lift patients to and from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other facility or department equipment.
• Assist patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assist patients with donning and doffing appliances specific to the facility or department.
• Position patients in parallel bars and prepare them for standing with appropriate orthotic or prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transport patients to and from therapy as needed.
• Assist therapists with other appropriate patient-related treatment activities and provide equipment.
• Set up equipment and position patients in preparation for therapy sessions, as outlined in the State Practice requirements.
