About The Position

The Therapy Aide supports therapists and patients at CoxHealth Rehabilitation Hospital, a 63-bed medical rehabilitation hospital in Ozark, Missouri, operated in partnership with Select Medical. The hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation for people facing brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role performs patient-related tasks assigned by therapists, assists with transfers, positioning, equipment and preparation for therapy sessions, and transports patients to and from therapy as needed. The position is full-time and includes an extensive orientation program.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified in BLS, or complete BLS certification within the first 90 days of employment.

• One or more years of hospital experience as a therapy aide.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient-related tasks assigned by a therapist.
• Lifts patients to and from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment appropriate to the facility or department.
• Assists patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assists patients with donning and doffing appliances specific to the facility or department.
• Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares them for standing with appropriate orthotic or prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transports patients to and from therapy as needed.
• Assists therapists with other appropriate patient-related treatment activities and provides equipment.
• Assists with equipment setup and patient positioning in preparation for therapy sessions.
