About The Position

The Therapy Aide supports rehabilitation services at Salem Hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation center, partnering with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. The role helps the clinic run smoothly by assisting with patient care, maintaining therapy equipment and supplies, and supporting therapists during treatment sessions. The position is per diem and unscheduled, with variable start and end times between 7:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Meet Salem Health Fleet Safety Requirements within 90 days of hire and maintain eligibility for continued employment in the position.

Nice To Haves

• Driver’s license is preferred; must have been held for at least two years, and the applicant must be at least 18 years old upon hire. The license must be issued by the state where the employee resides.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during therapy sessions while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
• Support therapists with mobility tasks using proper safety techniques.
• Transport patients to and from therapy areas as needed.
• Monitor patient well-being and promptly communicate concerns to staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
• Manage and clean therapy equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Stock and organize supplies for daily therapy operations.
• Help ensure efficient patient flow and smooth transitions between sessions.
