About The Position

The Therapy Aide supports rehabilitation services at Salem Hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation center, partnering with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. The role assists with patient care, helps therapists during treatment sessions, and supports daily clinic operations by maintaining equipment and supplies and helping ensure efficient patient flow. The position is unscheduled and non-exempt, with variable start and end times between 7:15 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Meet Salem Health Fleet Safety Requirements within 90 days of hire and maintain eligibility for continued employment in the position.

Nice To Haves

• Driver’s license preferred; must have been held for at least two years.
• Be at least 18 years of age upon hire.
• Current driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during therapy sessions while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety.
• Support therapists with mobility tasks using proper safety techniques.
• Transport patients to and from therapy areas as needed.
• Monitor patient well-being and promptly communicate concerns to staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
• Manage and clean therapy equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Stock and organize supplies for daily therapy operations.
• Help ensure efficient patient flow and smooth transitions between sessions.
