About The Position

The Therapy Aide assists therapy staff with patient identification and transportation needs in rehabilitation treatment areas and coordinates care between rehabilitation and nursing floors. The aide performs patient-related tasks assigned by therapists, helps patients transfer and move between surfaces and equipment, and supports treatment activities through equipment setup and patient positioning.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of hospital experience as a rehabilitation aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-related tasks assigned by the therapist.
• Lift patients to and from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs, and other equipment appropriate to the facility or department.
• Assist patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assist patients with donning and doffing appliances specific to the facility or department.
• Position patients in parallel bars and prepare them for standing with appropriate orthotic or prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Assist therapists with other appropriate patient-related treatment activities and provide equipment.
• Set up equipment and position patients in preparation for therapy sessions as outlined in the State Practice.
