About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services to K–12 students who need additional support in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The Therapist provides social-emotional services, including individual, group, or push-in counseling, as an integrated member of a multidisciplinary team. The role collaborates with school teams, families, and external partners to support student success.

Requirements

• Professional licensure, including LPC or LCPC, LCSW or LMSW, LMFT, or LMHC/LCMHC.
• Master’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field such as mental health, psychology, or counseling.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience working with children and adolescents in a school, special education, or behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from varied developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Provide individual, group, or push-in counseling in accordance with students’ individualized education plans (IEPs) or behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Collaborate on IEP development, including social-emotional goal setting, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Complete social-emotional and behavioral assessments, analyze data to identify student strengths and needs, and develop functional behavior assessments, BIPs, and other transition plans.
• Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and staff safety.
• Support social-emotional learning skill development through targeted curricula, assessments, and additional behavior support as needed.
• Provide in-service training with other teams, including expressive therapy and clinical teams.
• Collaborate with external partners and providers to support students, families, and staff.
• Maintain student-file documentation in accordance with regulatory agency requirements.
