About The Position

At Lasting Hope Recovery Center, a 64-bed adult psychiatric facility with private rooms, the Program Therapist provides compassionate care to patients experiencing mental illness, substance abuse, or both. Treatment is built around patients’ personal strengths and support systems and includes a range of treatment and prevention services.

The therapist provides psychosocial and diagnostic assessments, conducts individual and group therapy and counseling and education for significant others, and contributes to treatment and discharge planning with the consulting physician and treatment team. The role also includes peer case supervision, quality-of-care review, customer-satisfaction improvement, and timely documentation in accordance with charting policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or Social Work.
• Active license in the state of practice: PLMHP, LMHP, LIMHP, PCMSW, CMSW, or CSW.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions and provide counseling and education to significant others to help patients achieve defined treatment goals.
• Review cases to assure quality of care and seek ways to improve internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the consulting physician and treatment team to develop comprehensive treatment plans and discharge plans.
• Complete assessments, progress notes, group notes, and treatment plan updates in accordance with charting policy and procedures.
• Review cases in peer supervision.
