About The Position

We are a small business seeking talented individuals to join our mission. Our goal is to strengthen children and their families with coping skills, emotional support, and to promote healthy living habits to build successful lives. This role involves ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals under supervision, monitoring and managing crisis situations, providing behavioral health support and intervention, conducting parenting classes, and maintaining a safe environment. The position requires providing mental health counseling and supervised visitation to children and families, collaborating with team members on care plans, and documenting all observations and incidents for court presentation. Timely attendance and excellent writing skills are essential, as is the ability to testify in court. The work is conducted at the Limon DHS office on a part-time basis with flexible scheduling, and there is potential for the position to become full-time.

Requirements

  • 1 year working with children and families is required
  • A clinical background working with children and families required
  • Excellent writing skills is required
  • Strong crisis management skills
  • Registered with DORA as a LPCC, MFTC, SWC, LSW, LMFT, LPC or LCSW required
  • Excellent working knowledge of behavioral treatment for children and adolescent behavioral health
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
  • Attention to detail and ability to observe and assess situations accurately
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • This position requires a strong commitment to providing quality care and support to individuals in need
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in crisis management, behavioral health, or childcare

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals under your supervision
  • Monitor and manage crisis situations effectively
  • Provide behavioral health support and intervention as needed
  • Provide parenting classes
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all individuals
  • Implement and enforce program rules and regulations
  • Document incidents, observations, and any necessary reports
  • Provide mental health counseling to children and adults
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide supervised visitation to children and families
  • Responsible for ensuring the emotional and physical safety of children involved, maintaining strict guidelines for safe visitation and mediating conflicts when they arise
  • Document each visitation in detail
  • Testify in court
