About The Position

Clarvida is seeking a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist Coach (TBS Coach) to provide home, school, or day treatment-based support services to children, adolescents, and families. This role involves working cooperatively with treatment care personnel, facilitating therapeutic relationships, building upon family and child strengths, teaching pro-social skills, and facilitating effective family and community engagement. The TBS Coach will work directly to improve problematic behaviors and impairments in children and adolescents aged birth to 24, particularly those experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, as part of the Pico Rivera Child/TAY FSP Full Service Partnership program. Services are provided to Medi-Cal and indigent clients through a multidisciplinary team approach, including individual and family therapy, case management, medication management, housing, education, employment, and substance abuse services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and two years related experience or four years equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years experience or education in a related field.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Program.
  • Intermediate level PC skills required.
  • Valid California driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Proof of education required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide home, school, or day treatment-based support services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Work cooperatively with treatment care personnel and perform duties on-site with children/adolescents.
  • Facilitate therapeutic relationships, build upon family and child strengths.
  • Teach pro-social skills and facilitate effective family and community engagement.
  • Work directly to improve problematic behaviors and impairments.
  • Assist clients and parent/guardian during times of difficulty functioning.
  • Conduct interventions aimed at maximizing client's function, including coping and social skills.
  • Communicate with treatment therapists to magnify therapeutic gains.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records on clients served, including contact summaries, progress notes, and support service plans.
  • Attend staff meetings and bring any issues or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Maintain and ensure HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional boundaries with all staff and clients.
  • Assure client confidentiality and safety.
  • Transport clients to accommodate community relationships (use of personal car or vehicle required).
  • Meet monthly productivity requirement of 100 hours.
  • May handle On-Call Phone / After Hours duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to support the department/program, office, and/or the company.
