About The Position

As a Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) Coach, you will provide behaviorally focused mental health services to county-referred youth and families. TBS Coach supports youth who are returning to their families from institutional care and prevents the need for institutional care and those who are at risk of psychiatric hospitalization. TBS also supports youth who have been previously hospitalized in order to prevent future hospitalizations. These services, which are youth and family focused and strength based, are provided in the community, including, but not limited to, schools, hospitals, and family homes. The TBS Coach works individually to provide therapeutic intervention while also collaborating with other treatment providers to ensure continuity of care and a collaborative effort to support the youth and family in meeting their goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience.
  • Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Valid driver's license, own vehicle and current auto insurance, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and case management services for enrolled youth and their families.
  • Support client and family to connect to natural supports and community-based resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at client homes, schools, and other community locations.
  • Participate in all treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when necessary.
  • Complete mental health notes and other paperwork, and complete service tracking documentation as indicated.
  • Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings as needed.
  • Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, individual and group supervisions, and adhere to clinical best practices.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training. This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities may be required.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior at all times in accordance with Seneca's mission and philosophy.
  • All other duties as assigned by program and agency leadership.
