About The Position

The Therapeutic Activities Assistant helps the Activities Coordinator plan, organize, coordinate, and implement therapeutic activities for older adults at a day center. Duties vary from day to day. The role occasionally involves traveling to participants’ homes within the community to provide activities. A driver’s license is required. Community LIFE provides all-inclusive care for older adults, with the aim of helping participants remain at home while preserving dignity, independence, and quality of life. The program brings geriatric medicine and care professionals together in specialized Day Centers and offers services including medical care, social services, meals, activities, and transportation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Willingness to continue with credit and non-credit classes to advance and enhance skills.
One year of experience working with frail or elderly people.
One year of experience providing therapeutic activities in a social setting.
Driver’s license.
Ability to work cooperatively with the Activities Coordinator and Day Center staff.
Willingness to use skills, talents, and creativity to enhance and advance activity programming.
Ability or knowledge to take on a leadership role in the absence of the Activities Coordinator.

Responsibilities
