About The Position

Community LIFE is seeking a Therapeutic Activities Assistant to help the Activities Coordinator plan, organize, coordinate, and implement therapeutic activities for older adults at its day center. The day-to-day duties vary. The role also occasionally involves traveling to participants’ homes in the community to provide activities. A driver’s license is required. Community LIFE provides all-inclusive care for older adults, bringing geriatric medicine and care professionals together in specialized Day Centers. Its services are designed to help older adults remain at home while preserving their dignity, independence, and quality of life.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Willingness to continue with credit and non-credit classes to advance and enhance skills.
One year of experience working with frail or elderly people.
One year of experience providing therapeutic activities in a social setting.
Ability to work cooperatively with the Activities Coordinator and Day Center staff.
Willingness to use skills, talents, and creativity to enhance and advance the activity programming format.
Ability and knowledge to take on a leadership role in the absence of the Activities Coordinator.
Valid driver's license required.
