About The Position

Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) is a leading nonprofit theater dedicated to producing exceptional theater and expanding the possibilities of live performance. This season marks the second under the leadership of Artistic Director Lear deBessonet, Managing Director Mike Schleifer, Executive Producer Bartlett Sher, Producer Nicole Kastrinos, and LCT3 Artistic Director and Producer Maria Manuela Goyanes. Founded in 1985, LCT has a rich history of producing acclaimed plays and musicals, earning numerous awards including 91 Tony Awards. LCT is committed to fostering a theater representative of all populations it serves and values empathy, dignity, and care. The Theater Manager LCT3/Claire Tow Theater position is a key role within the Company and House Management team, serving as the primary liaison between various theater departments and overseeing audience services to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Requirements

  • Must be a member in good standing of ATPAM.
  • Strong Excel and/or payroll computational skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Calm under pressure, professional, and tactful in challenging situations.
  • Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays in alignment with performance and production schedules.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Passion for theater and commitment to excellent audience service.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Company and House management experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Checks & Balances payroll system is a plus, but not required.
  • Must obtain a Certificate of Fitness by the FDNY, Category F03, Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day administrative and logistical operations for the Claire Tow Theater.
  • Ensure the smooth running of productions and a welcoming, safe, and smooth front-of-house experience for patrons, staff, and artists.
  • Work closely with General Management, Artistic, Production, Finance, and People and Culture teams.
  • Support artists, stage managers, and creative personnel.
  • Manage company operations for all productions, workshops, and special events.
  • Assist with processing contracts, union paperwork (AEA, SDC, USA, Local One), and process weekly payroll.
  • Coordinate travel, housing, and per diem arrangements for visiting artists and creative teams.
  • Track and process reimbursements, petty cash, and company credit card expenses.
  • Maintain accurate company files, contact lists, and production schedules.
  • Serve as a point of contact for company members, addressing questions or concerns.
  • Greet and assist patrons, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Manage the lobby and theater space before, during, and after performances.
  • Resolve customer service issues or patron concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate late seating and manage house entrance procedures.
  • Assist with merchandise sales, special events, and concessions (if applicable).
  • Monitor inventory of front-of-house supplies and request reorders.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise ushers and other front-of-house personnel.
  • Ensure FOH staff are prepared for performance needs and emergency protocols.
  • Enforce fire code regulations and ADA accessibility accommodations.
  • Be the point of contact for any in-theater emergencies or evacuations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of public areas.
  • Communicate with box office, production, company, and stage management teams.
  • Submit house reports detailing audience attendance, incidents, and front-of-house notes.
  • Assist in coordinating opening nights, company events, and production-related hospitality.
  • Communicate regularly with production and front-of-house staff.
  • Provide general administrative support to the General Management team.

Benefits

  • Paid in accordance with an Off-Broadway ATPAM contract, above scale, for a period of 52 continuous weeks annually.
