Textile Operator - 1st shift

About The Position

The Weaver/Textile Operator sets up and operates looms to manufacture products for medical and/or industrial clients. The incumbent is assigned to Industrial Weaving or Medical Weaving and typically operates either a broad loom or a shuttle loom. The position is scheduled for four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 0–1 year of related experience.
Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Basic mathematical skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices and working in regulated industries.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Ability to complete paperwork properly according to work instructions, standards, or other specifications.
Excellent dependability and reliability.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Office for email.
Willingness to accept change, learn, and work with new processes.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with an ERP system.

Responsibilities

Draw in warp yarn according to specifications.
Follow procedures to install leases and lease rods and tie warp knots as necessary.
Complete all documentation requirements.
Manufacture fabrics and woven products according to requirements.
Identify and correct defects.
Record qualitative and quantitative measurements in accordance with internal specifications.
Make processing adjustments to ensure product quality.
Log machine downtime reasons accurately using a tablet.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Hand off job status to overlapping shifts.
