About The Position
The Test Technician supports the testing and troubleshooting of electronic hardware at BAE Systems. The role sets up test equipment and performs electrical and functional testing on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and units using approved procedures, specifications, and test sequences. The technician independently troubleshoots failures to the component level, corrects malfunctions as directed, and adjusts, calibrates, and maintains test systems and fixtures. The position also documents test results, supports quality processes, and works with test engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and keep products moving. This onsite position supports the first shift, working Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Fridays off. The role requires lifting 20–40 pounds. No travel is required.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical school certificate in electronics, or one year of experience testing circuit card assemblies, or four years of military or civilian aviation avionics experience.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently to the component level.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 20–40 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Experience with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and RF analyzers.
- Experience with Takaya flying probe test systems.
Responsibilities
- Set up test equipment and perform electrical and functional testing on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and units according to approved procedures, specifications, and test sequences.
- Independently troubleshoot failures to the component level using schematics, diagrams, and test data.
- Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed.
- Adjust, calibrate, and maintain test systems and fixtures as needed.
- Document test results and support quality using statistical process control and other control procedures.
- Work with test engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and keep products moving.
