About The Position

The Test Tech I supports testing of advanced electronics at BAE Systems and serves as a final check before hardware is delivered to the warfighter. The role sets up test equipment and performs electrical and functional testing on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and units according to approved procedures, specifications, and test sequences. The technician troubleshoots failures to the component level, corrects malfunctions as directed, maintains test systems and fixtures, documents results, and works with test engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and keep products moving.

This is an on-site, first-shift position in Austin, Texas. The schedule is 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with Fridays off. The role requires the ability to lift 20–40 pounds. The listed full-time salary range is $40,003–$64,006.

Requirements

• Associate degree or technical school certificate in electronics, or one year of experience testing circuit card assemblies, or four years of military or civilian aviation avionics experience.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently to the component level.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift 20–40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Experience with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and RF analyzers.
• Experience with Takaya flying probe test systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up test equipment and perform electrical and functional testing on circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and units using approved procedures, specifications, and test sequences.
• Troubleshoot failures independently to the component level using schematics, diagrams, and test data.
• Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts and components as directed.
• Adjust, calibrate, and maintain test systems and fixtures as needed.
• Document test results and support quality through statistical process control and other control procedures.
• Work with test engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues and keep product moving.
