About The Position

Victaulic, a global leader in mechanical pipe joining innovations, is seeking to expand its outside sales team with high-powered sales representatives. This role involves daily travel to meet with customers, visit job sites, and build relationships with key stakeholders. The sales team is composed of self-starters with strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and effective communication abilities. The company offers an excellent training program to help new hires learn about Victaulic's products and solutions, as well as industry knowledge regarding pipe joining methods, construction cycles, market trends, and competitor activity. Sales representatives are expected to integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations. They will work with their Regional Sales Manager to develop business plans, set sales goals, and implement strategies to maximize sales potential. Responsibilities include executing all phases of project pursuit and management, from inception through bidding, job site training, and after-sale follow-up. This involves gathering complete information for quotation requisitions and leading internal teams to meet customer requirements. Building strong relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners is crucial. This includes spending time with customers, which may extend beyond normal business hours for social events. Partnering with Victaulic distributors and coordinating activities with other Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists are also key aspects of the role. The goal is to educate customers on the value of Victaulic products and influence decision-makers to maximize sales potential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous sales experience selling “value added” products/services, preferably related to the commercial construction industry, PVF industry (pipes, valves, fittings) or mechanical products.

Responsibilities

  • Learn all about Victaulic’s products and how they provide solutions for customers.
  • Understand the industry, including grooved mechanical pipe joining methods, competitive methods, construction cycles, market trends, and competitor activity.
  • Integrate into local trade organizations and professional associations.
  • Work with Regional Sales Manager to develop a business plan, including opportunity mapping, sales goals, and product promotion plans.
  • Execute all phases of project pursuit and project management to secure a purchase order.
  • Gain complete information for all quotation requisitions.
  • Lead inside sales team, engineering, and other support staff to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and build lasting relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and building/project owners.
  • Spend time with customers, including evenings or weekends for social events.
  • Partner with Victaulic distributors and manage a balanced distribution network.
  • Coordinate activities with other Victaulic representatives and regional market specialists.
  • Educate customers about the overall value of utilizing Victaulic products.
  • Influence decision-makers to maximize sales potential.
  • Conduct tool demos or installation technique training on job sites.
  • Perform lunch and learn presentations for engineers.
  • Travel as required for the territory, which may involve overnight stays.
