About The Position

The Territory Sales Manager oversees the sales and marketing efforts of Grass products within an assigned area, representing the company across OEM and distribution market segments.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of sales/marketing experience (proven and demonstrable)
  • 5+ years of experience in the kitchen cabinet, cabinet hardware, furniture, building materials, or related industry
  • Candidate must be willing to travel
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaker
  • Distributor and OEM experience
  • Reside in Los Angeles, Orange County, or nearby cities
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable in shop environments, including woodworking and manufacturing
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, industry terminology, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and business-related sources
  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels of personnel in the industry, managers, and public groups
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
  • Must understand concepts relating to profitability, contribution margin, and internal costs that influence product sales price
  • Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude and possesses knowledge in construction, metalworking, and/or tools

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with finance and accounting principles is helpful
  • Preferred: college degree
  • Experience working with woodworking and shop tools, either professionally or as a hobby
  • Completion of recognized corporate leadership and sales training programs and/or courses

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with key principals and decision-makers of all territory OEM and distribution accounts; responsible for overall customer relationship success
  • Coordinate sales efforts with internal departments such as Customer Service, Finance, and Warehouse/Shipping to utilize resources effectively and meet customer expectations
  • Promote a positive image of the Grass brand and conduct oneself with professionalism and integrity; support ethical business practices
  • Maintain a schedule of frequent customer visits, including goal setting, product introductions, forecast updates, and market intelligence gathering
  • Lead and support distributor sales teams in Grass-related activities, including goal setting and accountability
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of current and target accounts, including segmentation and shared database management
  • Maintain detailed account overviews, including stakeholders, market position, financial considerations, and logistics
  • Protect and grow the Grass brand through sales/marketing activities and intellectual property stewardship
  • Communicate effectively with Product Management, Engineering/R&D, and Finance to align customer expectations with company goals
  • Gather and report market and competitor intelligence
  • Build and maintain a competitive product and pricing database
  • Provide analysis of sales and cost of sales; advise management on pricing strategy and profitability
  • Work closely with Forecasting/Planning to align demand with production and resources
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Regional Sales Manager regarding sales activities and market conditions
  • Prepare monthly reports on sales activities and market insights
  • Attend industry trade shows and association meetings; report findings to management
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and reporting methods; accountable for territory expenses
  • Participate in budget planning sessions and future marketing activities
