About The Position

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Region-42 (LA, AR & MS). The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for growing Tyler Union's market share through specification efforts and by managing, maintaining, and expanding the existing distributor base. This role involves providing quality customer service to meet sales and profitability goals, assisting with technical questions and installation needs through superior product knowledge, and protecting the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism. The position requires focusing on sales growth of multiple product lines, exploring and embracing assigned opportunities, monitoring competition, and participating in trade associations. Regular communication with the Regional Sales Manager is essential for monitoring territory needs and allocating resources. The role also involves preparing price quotations or bids, working with the Project Manager to identify large jobs, identifying specification targets, troubleshooting field issues, and identifying potential new products. The candidate hired must reside in the territory, preferably in Arkansas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, training, and education.
  • Previous work experience in the waterworks industry preferred.
  • Ability for extensive domestic travel as projects and work responsibilities dictate.
  • Strong communication, organization, and people skills.
  • Self-motivated, assertive individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to negotiate and close deals.
  • Financial and analytical acuity and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate digital literacy in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
  • Must be able to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong communication networks and relationships with distributors, engineers, and municipalities.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of distributors.
  • Recommend products to customers, based on customers’ needs and interests.
  • Service existing accounts and communicate with clients on a regular basis.
  • Submit weekly reports to management highlighting market conditions.
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential, and using discretion, sound judgement and professionalism.
  • Focus on sales growth of multiple product lines.
  • Help grow market share and volume by exploring and embracing assigned opportunities.
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, marketing techniques, etc.
  • Participate in trade associations, including assisting with seminars, trade shows, and presentations.
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Sales Manager to monitor needs/concerns within the territory and for allocation of resources.
  • Prepares price quotations or bids based on knowledge of material and most recent market conditions.
  • Work with Project Manager to identify and prioritize large jobs in the region.
  • Identify specification targets to manage along with Sales Engineer.
  • Troubleshoot field issues and potential product claims.
  • Identify potential new products needed to serve market.
  • Maintain all company property provided to you with respect.
  • Perform various other miscellaneous sales and service-related duties as directed by management.
