About The Position

Accountable is a virtual support system for substance use recovery and sobriety, offering certified peer recovery coaches, breathalyzer monitoring, remote drug testing, and recovery groups. This role is crucial for establishing Accountable's presence in a given territory, building trust with clinicians, discharge planners, and community partners to drive referrals. The company emphasizes earning referrals through outcomes and trust, explicitly stating they do not engage in referral fees or kickbacks.

Requirements

  • Live in the territory.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • 2+ years of outside sales, community outreach, admissions, or business development experience.
  • Ability to speak the language of the treatment world (understanding detox, residential, PHP, IOP, outpatient, MAT, and sober living).
  • Understanding of how care is paid for and accessed (private pay, commercial insurance, Medicare).
  • Proven experience with cold outreach, list building, and turning cold contacts into relationships.
  • Experience carrying and hitting a sales number.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with clinical directors and parents.
  • Disciplined about CRM usage with same-day logging.

  • Existing relationships with treatment providers or clinicians in the Pittsburgh market.
  • Personal or family recovery experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build and work a territory plan covering the market's referral sources.
  • Be in the field 4–5 days a week, conducting 15–20 meetings per week once ramped.
  • Sell consultatively, understanding referrer's client needs before pitching and being honest about fit.
  • Call on treatment providers including residential programs, detoxes, PHP/IOPs, sober livings, and their associated staff (discharge planners, case managers, alumni coordinators).
  • Call on clinical providers such as therapists, addiction medicine and psychiatry practices, primary care, and hospital social workers.
  • Engage with community partners like drug courts, interventionists, DUI and family law attorneys, EAPs, and recovery community organizations.
  • Run in-services and lunch-and-learns, and attend relevant coalition meetings, recovery events, and conferences.
  • Activate new accounts and maintain existing ones, aiming for at least quarterly referrals from each active account.
  • Log all activity in the CRM on the same day.
  • Work within Accountable's compliance standards in all referral relationships.
