About The Position

The Territory Manager is responsible for driving sales growth for Trek, Electra, and Bontrager products by acting as a trusted business partner to retailers in their territory. This role requires a consultative sales professional who is confident and capable of influencing retailer decision-making, strengthening partnerships, and fostering long-term growth. The incumbent works closely with Trek and Electra retailers to increase their market share, improve product visibility, and execute the retailer sales program. Success in this sales role hinges on a strong professional presence, a keen business sense, and the ability to conduct constructive discussions based on a deep understanding of retailers. This position is for someone who excels in customer interactions, prefers a coaching and consulting approach over a transactional sales approach, and wants to make a significant impact representing a brand recognized as an industry leader. For logistical reasons, candidates must reside in the province of Quebec.

Requirements

  • At least three years of sales experience, ideally in a consultative sales and business development environment.
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and conduct sales interviews with confidence.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Organizational skills, ability to take initiative with motivation, and proven effectiveness in territory follow-up and planning.
  • Technical proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools.
  • Proficiency in French to effectively support and communicate with retailers.
  • Advanced intermediate proficiency in English (written and spoken) is also required for daily collaboration with US-based colleagues, weekly meetings, and consulting financial and technical documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the cycling industry is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Ascend point-of-sale software.
  • Good knowledge of the territory and local markets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales of Trek, Electra Bicycles, and Bontrager accessories within their territory.
  • Establish sales goals and manage forecasts, orders, prospecting, and tracking of business opportunities.
  • Analyze retailer performance and implement strategies to improve sales, assortment, and profitability.
  • Act as a business consultant to retailers, providing recommendations on merchandising, inventory management, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Select partner retailers, help them develop their potential, and support them in optimizing Trek's market position.
  • Build long-term trusting relationships through regular in-person visits.
  • Share product knowledge and provide sales training to retailer teams.
  • Ensure brand standards are met for product presentation and in-store experience.
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard new partner retailers to expand market coverage and develop the distribution network.
  • Monitor competitor activities and local market trends.
  • Represent Trek at retailer events, product demonstrations, and promotional activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while consistently embodying Trek's brand values.
