It is also a short drive from attractions like the Rose Bowl stadium, The Huntington Library, Descanso Gardens, and Kidspace Children's Museum. The Terrace Kitchen department is seeking a Cook 1 to accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience.
  • Food Handler’s Certificate required.

  • Culinary degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supplying the assigned workstation with all necessary products and culinary equipment for prompt production.
  • Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting, and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use.
  • Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
  • May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station and may operate a grill station.
  • Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains work stations and equipment, adhering to all regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Prepares all menu item prep work using standardized recipes as a guide for the restaurant.
  • Stores all food in refrigerated boxes with covers, labels, and dates, using proper containers and labels to protect against waste and spoilage.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
