About The Position

The Terminal Scale Operator is the primary point of contact for customers picking up bulk salt and aggregates at our facility and coordinating salt deliveries. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.

Requirements

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions (cold/hot).
Must be detail-oriented and accurate.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Pleasant telephone manner.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful.

Responsibilities

Accurately weigh and ticket trucks using a computerized scale program as they pass over the truck scales.
Verify loads, collect payments, and record customer job information.
Answer telephone calls professionally and communicate effectively with truck drivers and loaders using a CB radio.
Ensure the general upkeep of the Scale House.
Complete all administrative tasks, including regular filing and required reports.
Keep the immediate supervisor fully informed of any issues or matters requiring attention.
Maintain prompt attendance from the required start time of 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, and work overtime and weekends as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned, including data entry and minor customer service responsibilities.
Present facts and recommendations effectively in both oral and written form.
Read, write, and perform basic mathematics. Must be proactive and able to follow simple instructions from oral or written correspondence.
