About The Position

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is hiring a Terminal Operator for its Charleston, West Virginia terminal. The role works with and around petroleum products and is responsible for operating aspects of the terminal, including blending, distributing, and delivering products safely, reliably, and competitively. The position belongs to a terminal group with locations in Charleston, WV, and Marietta, OH. Charleston is the assigned home location, but the operator may be expected to cover other group locations as business needs require. The work schedule may be a four- or five-day workweek or shift work as needed. Call-outs and overtime may be required after business hours and on weekends and holidays. Continuous job-related training is provided.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to learn basic computer skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to document and maintain accurate records.
Ability to learn mechanical and electrical systems.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or vocational technical training.
Previous experience in process operations, maintenance crafts, and/or the petroleum industry.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the truck loading rack and other facility equipment.
Sample and perform laboratory testing of petroleum products.
Gauge storage tanks.
Support shipment and receipt of petroleum products via pipeline and/or barge or ship.
Prepare terminal reports.
Climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and frequently work outdoors.
