About The Position

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is hiring a Terminal Operator for its Charleston, West Virginia terminal. The role works with and around petroleum products and is responsible for operating aspects of a petroleum products terminal, including safe, reliable, and competitive blending, distribution, and delivery. The position is part of a terminal group that includes Charleston, WV, and Marietta, OH. The assigned home location is Charleston, but the operator may be required to work at other group locations to meet business needs. The schedule may involve a 4- or 5-day workweek or shift work as needed. Call-outs and overtime may be required after business hours and on weekends and holidays. Continuous training will be provided to develop job-related skills. The successful candidate is collaborative, reliable, motivated, and prioritizes safety.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to learn basic computer skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Ability to document and maintain accurate records.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or vocational technical training.
Previous process operations, maintenance crafts, and/or petroleum industry experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a truck loading rack and other facility equipment.
Sample and perform laboratory testing of petroleum products.
Gauge storage tanks.
Support the shipment and receipt of petroleum products via pipeline and/or barge or ship.
Prepare terminal reports.
Climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, and frequently work outdoors.
