About The Position
This is a term teaching position within the Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE). The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018, to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and overall success. The SRCE operates 20 schools with approximately 5,948 students and 375 children in pre-primary programs across 14 locations. The jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties in northeastern Nova Scotia. Teachers hired or recalled into new positions will be required to participate in New Teacher training if they have not already done so. This position is located at the Strait Area Education worksite.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition
- Excellent classroom and student management skills
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
- Major in Math
- Major/Minor in Physics
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one must be your most recent supervisor.
- All employees must provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.
