About The Position
The Strait Regional Centre for Education (SRCE) is seeking to fill term positions for teachers. This posting is for permanent contract teachers, second-year probationary teachers, teachers with recall status, and external applicants who are qualified. Applicants applying for multiple positions must rank them in order of preference. The SRCE is part of the public education system in Nova Scotia, established on April 1, 2018, to support student learning, achievement, well-being, and success. With approximately 1,166 employees, the SRCE operates 20 schools and pre-primary programs, serving about 5,948 students. Located in northeastern Nova Scotia, its jurisdiction covers Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond counties.
Requirements
- Valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia.
- Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the competition.
- Excellent classroom and student management skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning.
- Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies.
- Major or Minor in English.
- Application must include at least three (3) work-related references, one of which must be the most recent supervisor.
- Provide a current (within the last 6 months), and clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Abuse Registry prior to employment.

- Teach English Communications 12, Contemporary Canadian Studies 11, Law 12, Economics 12, and Entrepreneurship 12.
- Participate in New Teacher training if hired or recalled into a new position and have not already done so.
