About The Position
The Department of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking to fill multiple tenure-track faculty positions, with an anticipated start date in Fall 2027. While appointments are expected at the Assistant Professor rank, exceptionally qualified candidates at more senior levels will also be considered. The department welcomes applicants from all areas of chemistry, with a particular interest in those whose work intersects with materials, energy, sustainability, catalysis, chemical biology, automation, or data-driven and computational approaches. These areas align with the department's and institution's strengths and its focus on addressing global challenges in sustainability, health, and quality of life. The department fosters a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment with strong ties to Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, and Materials Science and Engineering. Faculty benefit from access to shared instrumentation, core facilities, and Carnegie Mellon's broader expertise in computation, robotics, and data science. The CMU AI Science Foundry offers opportunities for AI-guided autonomous experimentation. The department provides competitive start-up packages, dedicated lab space, and access to shared facilities. Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
