The University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing seeks productive nurse scientists for a tenure-track faculty position in the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and Scholarly Excellence (RISE) AI initiative. The initiative brings faculty together across disciplines to pursue research, teaching, and outreach, with institutional support for collaboration and access to research infrastructure and funding. Successful candidates will develop and maintain an externally funded research program involving the design, implementation, use, and/or evaluation of AI-assisted technologies addressing important challenges in health, healthcare, and nursing. Areas of interest include nursing and healthcare workflows and workforce transformation; clinical and systems decision-making; healthcare quality and safety; access to care; outcomes for patients, caregivers, and communities; and human-centered, responsible, and equitable AI implementation in nursing. Faculty are encouraged to collaborate with RISE-AI colleagues across campus. The role also includes teaching in Baccalaureate, DNP, and PhD programs, mentoring students and postdoctoral trainees, and service to the school, university, community, and profession. Faculty are expected to work onsite, with remote work flexibility as appropriate. The position is full-time, 100%, on a nine-month C-basis, ongoing and renewable. Compensation is negotiable and depends on experience and qualifications. Official transcripts are required upon hire, and the successful candidate must have or be eligible for Wisconsin RN licensure by the first day of employment.
