Anesthesiology - Open Rank/Open Track Faculty
About The Position
This position provides faculty support for the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and helps fulfill UTMB’s threefold mission. The faculty member provides direct patient care, including anesthesiology and pre- and post-operative services, and participates in departmental teaching activities for medical students and house staff. The position also has administrative responsibilities, including resident supervision and evaluation, medical direction, and committee participation at the departmental and Health System levels. Dedicated research time is provided. Salary is commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Completion of an approved residency training program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
- Unrestricted Texas Medical license.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including anesthesiology, pre-operative services, and post-operative services.
- Participate in departmental teaching activities, including conferences, lectures, and operating-room teaching.
- Supervise house staff in the operating room.
- Participate in continuing medical education and local, regional, and national meetings.
- Supervise and evaluate residents.
- Provide medical direction.
- Participate in committee memberships at the departmental and Health System levels.
- Contribute to the Department’s teaching, research, and patient care needs.
