About The Position

Boise State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions. One position is open rank, and the second will be filled at the assistant professor rank. We seek candidates who are passionate about advancing their field through impactful research, innovative teaching, student mentorship, and community engagement. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: Controls, Electromagnetics, Signal processing, Power, Communications, Circuits. Successful candidates will build a robust, externally funded research program, foster a collaborative learning environment using evidence-based practices, communicate effectively with colleagues and students, and collaborate on interdisciplinary research initiatives. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is part of the vibrant College of Engineering, which is ranked in the top 150 colleges by US News & World Report for both undergraduate and graduate programs. The College offers a variety of accredited programs and receives a high level of support from industry in Idaho and the Intermountain West. Requirements

  • PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, is required for all ranks.
  • Assistant Professor: PhD by the time of appointment.
  • Associate Professor: In addition to the PhD, the equivalent of at least five full years of service as an Assistant Professor at an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Full Professor: In addition to the PhD, the equivalent of at least five full years of service as an Associate Professor at an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • A cover letter indicating the faculty rank(s) and area(s) of expertise for which you would like to be considered (controls, electromagnetics, signal processing, power, communications and/or circuits).
  • A comprehensive curriculum vitae.
  • Statements detailing your teaching philosophy and research agenda (1-3 pages each).
  • Professional contact information for at least three references.
