About The Position

This role involves independent project management and leadership in planning and execution of full vehicle and subsystems models for programs to process time and consumer requirements. The position requires collaboration with the VDDV consumer base to develop robust statements of requirements for each modeling event. It also involves proactive engagement, effective communication, and coordination with various teams including Vehicle Performance Integration Manager, Design Release Engineer, Design Engineer, Suppliers, Performance, and Program teams to develop and refine plans for model builds while continuously assessing and mitigating risk. The role includes leading and leveraging a globally distributed team for model builds, performing risk assessment, monitoring progress, and enabling first-time quality and on-time delivery of models. Additionally, the position requires active participation in department process, speed, and quality improvement meetings, leading robust root cause and preventive action summaries on quality improvement opportunities for full vehicle safety, body, trim structure, and flex models. It also involves identifying and leading efficiency and effectiveness improvement opportunities for master models builds, actively applying process integration principles, and performing full Virtual Vehicle assembly, integration, and quality checks on models. The role also requires staying abreast of new modeling technology and applying it to projects, providing technical leadership, and leading road-to-lab-to-math projects in alignment with Technology Roadmaps and Vision for the modeling enterprise. 10% travel is required nationwide.
