Tennis Pro Shop Manager
About The Position
Hollytree Country Club is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Tennis Pro Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Tennis Pro Shop. This position is responsible for providing excellent member service, managing retail operations and inventory, supporting tennis programming and events, and maintaining a welcoming and organized shop environment. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about tennis and racquet sports, enjoys working with members and guests, and is comfortable balancing customer service, retail sales, administrative duties, and day-to-day shop operations.
Requirements
- Previous retail, tennis, racquet-sports, country club, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of tennis and racquet-sports equipment and merchandise.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable using a computer, point-of-sale system, and basic office software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and during tournaments or special events as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise, boxes, and supplies weighing up to approximately up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and organize inventory and merchandise.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors as required for events and club activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the Tennis Pro Shop.
- Provide friendly, professional service to club members and guests.
- Assist members with tennis and racquet-sports equipment, apparel, footwear, accessories, and other merchandise.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, pricing, and merchandising products.
- Keep the Pro Shop clean, organized, and professionally merchandised.
- Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process purchases, charges, and payments.
- Assist with member account charges, sales records, and daily shop reconciliation.
- Monitor retail sales and communicate inventory needs and sales trends to management.
- Assist with tennis tournaments, socials, clinics, camps, and other racquet-sports events.
- Help coordinate registration, merchandise, prizes, player gifts, and event supplies.
- Assist tennis professionals with day-to-day programming and member needs.
- Promote club tennis programs, events, merchandise, and special promotions.
- Maintain knowledge of current tennis equipment, apparel, footwear, and racquet-sports trends.
- Assist with racquet services, including restringing coordination and other equipment services as applicable.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors and assist with product selection and purchasing.
- Help ensure the Pro Shop operates according to club policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing Hollytree Country Club.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports or management.
