About The Position

A private family in New York City is seeking a Temporary Nanny / Family Assistant to care for their 15-month-old son from November 11, 2026 through January 1, 2027. The role is approximately 70% childcare and 30% family-assistant support relating primarily to the child and his day-to-day needs. The child is described as happy, social, active, and fond of outings. The successful candidate will provide sole-charge care and create playful, engaging, developmentally appropriate days at home and around New York City. The family values a strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to incorporate language, learning, exploration, and developmental opportunities into everyday play. This high-trust, autonomous role calls for someone independent, proactive, and confident taking ownership of the child’s day, researching and planning activities, anticipating needs, and working collaboratively with the parents. The schedule is typically six days per week, approximately 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some flexibility around the family’s schedule. The family requires a candidate already based in New York City who can commit for the full placement. Compensation is approximately $500 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.
