About The Position

The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is seeking applications for a pool of part-time teaching appointments. CSUDH values diversity and is looking for candidates with experience teaching and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The Department of Theatre and Dance aims to engage students in active self-expression through the appreciation of the arts, developing production and performance skills, and understanding the historical and cultural dimensions of theatre. The program emphasizes social consciousness, community-based experience, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking, preparing students for successful careers and meaningful lives.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
Experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.

Nice To Haves

A Master’s degree or MFA in [Theatre] or related discipline.
Prior college-level teaching experience and relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Teach assigned lower and upper division courses in the department’s curriculum.
Serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
Courses may include all levels of acting, theatrical design and technology, and related theatre courses.
