About The Position
The Art & Design Department at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a pool of part-time teaching appointments. CSUDH values diversity and seeks candidates with experience teaching and working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The department offers B.A. degrees in Art, Art History, and Design, with various minors. They emphasize rigorous, cross-disciplinary programs preparing students for professional and post-graduate work, utilizing new technologies and traditional media. The Design program focuses on print, web, UI/UX, illustration, photography, and motion design, with required internships to connect students with the professional industry.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- Experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check).
Nice To Haves
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching.
- A Master’s degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- A Doctoral degree in the field relevant to the curriculum or related discipline.
- Experience teaching online.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned lower and upper division courses in the department’s curriculum.
- Serve weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
