About The Position

The Programs and Event Production Coordinator is conceived as a temporary role to last an initial 6-12 weeks. The Coordinator will work directly with the Rose Art Museum director to develop and plan a calendar of public programs to take place September through December 2026, which will include a VIP event on September 8 and a public reception in celebration of opening fall shows on September 9. Engaging, diverse, top quality, high-profile programming is a cornerstone of the museum’s strategic plan and mission. To do this well, learning about scheduled exhibition content is part of the role. An expectation is that the Coordinator will be able to envision and help translate exhibition themes, artists’ concerns, and related issues from public life into enriching programs with educational outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and plan a calendar of public programs for September through December 2026.
  • Collaborate with the museum director and other staff to maintain museum relationships with students, faculty, staff, and organizational partners.
  • Initiate new collaborative projects or programs in discussion with the director and curatorial team.
  • Generate ideas and implement programs/events with the curatorial team and museum educator.
  • Act as project manager for upcoming events, taking primary responsibility for logistical implementation.
  • Liaise with Brandeis departments, vendors, presenters, galleries, etc. to ensure successful events.
  • Book presenters, draft PowerPoint slides, and run Zoom meetings for planning and rehearsal.
  • Serve as a point person for program registrants and forward accessibility/accommodations requests.
  • Set up surveys and evaluate results after programs.
  • Work with students as assigned.

Benefits
