About The Position

The UNM-Taos Department of Nursing seeks to hire a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member to teach NMNC 1235 Assessment and Health Promotion, as a clinical instructor for Fall 2027. This course introduces nursing students to the assessment of and health promotion for the healthcare participant as an individual, family, or community, utilizing seminar, laboratory, and/or clinical settings. This posting is for face-to-face course delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Nursing
  • Current unopposed New Mexico license as a registered nurse or approved multistate license
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience working as a registered nurse

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a nurse educator
  • Teaching experience in a post-secondary institution, particularly community college experience
  • Professional certification related to nursing and/or nursing education
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student success
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional and collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Teach NMNC 1235 Assessment and Health Promotion (4 credits) as a clinical instructor.
  • Utilize seminar, laboratory, and/or clinical settings for course delivery.
  • Cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico.
  • Contribute to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
