Temp Part-Time Faculty in Social Sciences
About The Position
The University of New Mexico’s Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or online lower division courses (100/1000/2000 Level) during the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027 semesters in various social science disciplines. UNM Gallup is a two-year branch campus focused on providing quality education and responding to the unique needs of its community. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of teaching, including content delivery, assignment development, grading, and student assessment. Positions are contingent upon semester-specific needs determined by student enrollment and demand. Candidates selected will report to the division chair.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in American Studies, Anthropology, Geography, Linguistics, Political Science, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, or related field; or a Master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in any of those fields previously listed

- College-level teaching experience

Responsibilities
- Meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends
- Content delivery
- Assignment development
- Grading assignments
- Reporting of grades
- Assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair
