Temp Part-Time Faculty in Second Language
About The Position
The University of New Mexico's Gallup Branch, Liberal Arts & Education Division, is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division courses (1000/2000 Level) during the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2027 semesters. These courses may be taught face-to-face and/or online. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of their classes, including meeting times (which may include evenings or weekends), content delivery, assignment development, grading, reporting grades, and student learning assessment as directed by the division chair. Positions are contingent upon semester-specific needs determined by student enrollment, course offerings, and graduation requirements. Selected candidates will report to the division chair.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Native fluency in the language to be taught
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree or Doctorate degree in the language studied
- College-level teaching experience
- A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico
- A demonstrated commitment to the success of the university’s mission to serve local and global communities
Responsibilities
- Meeting with the class during assigned times that may include face-to-face, evenings or weekends
