Temp Part-Time Faculty in Nursing Adjuncts
About The Position
The Nursing Program at UNM-Gallup anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and/or Summer 2027 semesters in the Nursing Program/Nursing and Human Services (NHS) Division. This role involves teaching Lower Division Nursing Courses (1000-2000 Level), nursing clinicals, and/or nursing program pre-requisites. Possible courses include nursing assistant didactic and/or skills, nursing assistant clinicals, nursing skills laboratory, nursing simulation, adult health and illness clinical, pediatric health and illness clinical, maternal/child health and illness clinical, mental health and illness clinical, Human Growth and Development, Human Nutrition, Pathophysiology, and NMNC didactic nursing courses. UNM-Gallup branch colleges provide high-quality education tailored to community needs, offering various programs. UNM-Gallup's NHS Division seeks qualified temporary part-time faculty to teach lower division classes. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of teaching, including meeting times, content delivery, assignment development, grading, and student learning assessment. Positions are contingent upon semester needs, student enrollment, course offerings, and graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester. Candidates will report to the NHS Division Chair.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Unrestricted, active New Mexico RN license or multistate RN compact license
- Updated curriculum vitae
- Copy of registered nursing license from NURSYS or the State Board of Nursing
- Transcript(s) sufficient to assess Minimum Qualifications
- Cover Letter indicating which courses and/or disciplines you are interested in teaching, the days/times you are available to teach, and how your education and experience satisfies the minimum qualifications criteria
- Three (3) professional references who can speak to your directly relevant knowledge, skills and experience (including email address and phone number)
- Official certification of successful completion of all degree requirements prior to their initial employment with UNM
Nice To Haves

- Two years of clinical nursing experience
