About The Position

At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, a Teller’s primary focus is improving members’ financial well-being by building relationships, acting with integrity, and taking action to meet members’ needs. Tellers maintain knowledge of products and services so they can educate members and prospective members, provide a pleasant in-person experience, and identify opportunities to connect members with appropriate products or services.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Basic math skills and ability to type, count, and use a calculator.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate trustworthy, ethical, and professional conduct.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and public relations skills, including listening for understanding.
• Ability to problem-solve and multitask.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively, take initiative, and provide helpful, dependable service.
• Ability to adapt, learn, and build relationships with employees at all levels.
• Ability to spend considerable time sitting at a desk and using a computer, regularly answer phone calls, and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.

• Experience in banking and/or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of products and services and educate members and prospective members about them.
• Interact with members and prospective members regarding deposit and loan accounts, and provide a pleasant member experience.
• Participate in branch-team interactions, meetings, and continuing education.
• Perform banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, transfers, and other financial transactions.
• Assist with branch opening and closing procedures, which may include processing checks, night drops, and stocking supplies.
• Identify opportunities to improve members’ financial well-being and refer members to the appropriate teams for additional products or services.
• Follow compliance requirements and safety and security rules and regulations.
• Maintain a secure, organized, and neat work area.
• Balance and handle cash safely and securely.
