About The Position

As a Teller at Santander, you assist customers with financial needs and process banking transactions. You provide exceptional customer service, resolve concerns, minimize risk, help prevent fraud, refer product solutions, and escalate complex issues for timely resolution. The role is based at the Madison Ave branch in Lakewood, New Jersey, and may include supporting nearby branch locations based on business necessity.

You welcome customers, help minimize wait times, and assist with banking needs while processing deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. You handle cash and maintain accurate cash drawer balances, follow bank policies and compliance and risk-management procedures, identify opportunities to cross-sell products, and use digital tools to educate customers about self-service options. You may also assist with custodianship, audits, and other operational tasks, and maintain a clean, organized, welcoming work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of cash-handling experience.
• At least 6 months of demonstrated customer-service experience.
• Excellent customer-service skills and a passion for helping others.
• Ability to identify and escalate risk concerns to appropriate channels.
• Ability to follow directions, policies, and procedures.
• Effective listening and communication skills.
• Comfort using digital tools and technology to enhance customer engagement.
• Energetic, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency and basic math skills.
• Ability to work branch hours, which can include weekends and evenings.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring employer sponsorship to commence employment.
