About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Teller to join its National Branch Network. This front-line, customer-focused role supports customers’ everyday banking needs through in-branch interactions, accurately processes transactions, and provides a welcoming, reliable experience. Tellers are a primary point of contact for customers and represent the branch through strong service, attention to detail, and genuine care. The role builds foundational banking skills by helping employees learn about customers’ needs and introduce relevant products, services, and digital tools. Tellers identify opportunities to support customers and connect them with bankers for more detailed product conversations. They work closely with branch teammates to keep daily operations running smoothly and deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience. Wells Fargo describes this role as an entry point to retail banking, with potential for long-term growth and career mobility supported by training, coaching, and a team-based culture. The position is part-time and located at 81 W Hillsdale Blvd, San Mateo, California. The schedule will include Saturdays. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Base pay is $22.00–$27.50 per hour; pay may vary based on factors including performance, skills, experience, and work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience interacting with customers, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education, or a combination of these.
Ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Accurately process routine service transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing.
Welcome customers, understand their needs, and guide them to efficient banking options, including digital tools, self-service options, or the appropriate team member.
Build customer relationships and actively listen to understand everyday financial needs.
Connect customers to relevant information, services, digital tools, or bankers.
Identify potential product or service needs, introduce solutions at a high level, and refer customers to a banker for detailed guidance.
Complete transactional and operational activities accurately, using sound judgment and managing risk in accordance with policies and controls.
Use communication and active listening to clarify needs and provide clear solutions or next steps.
Collaborate with branch teammates, follow leadership direction, and escalate complex situations as needed.
Resolve routine customer questions or concerns and escalate more complex issues for timely resolution.
Follow applicable risk programs, policies, procedures, and compliance obligations; monitor and escalate risks or issues and make sound risk decisions.
