About The Position

As a Teller Trainee at Rockland Trust, you are a frontline representative of the branch who explores customer needs and offers personalized advice to develop and maintain relationships. You provide efficient, effective, and courteous service while carrying out a variety of financial transactions and helping customers navigate banking. The role contributes to branch and company goals and requires a positive, caring, and empathetic approach to customers and colleagues. The position includes training with the branch and training teams and successful completion of Rockland Trust’s Teller Training. Part-time and full-time hours are available. The work may involve long periods of standing, continuous customer support, and a flexible work week that may include weekends as customer needs dictate.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Comfort using technology, including computers, to support business goals.
Sales- and service-oriented personality.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
Positive approach to interactions with customers and team members.
Ability to work within normal office requirements, including long periods of standing and continuous customer support.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work a flexible work week, which may include weekends, as customer needs dictate.
Ability to successfully complete the training program.

Nice To Haves

One to two years of prior teller experience or cash-handling/customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

Greet customers as they enter the branch and guide them to the colleague best able to assist them.
Provide efficient, effective, and courteous customer support in person and by telephone.
Provide information about Rockland Trust banking products suited to customers’ needs.
Accurately process deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and other financial transactions.
Make decisions alongside the immediate supervisor, with decision-making responsibilities potentially expanding as knowledge and experience grow.
Work with the training team and branch team to learn role responsibilities and complete Teller Training.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
